Mission Statement
Ride4NY.org is an effort that has grown from a group of concerned New Yorkers lending assistance to communities impacted by Hurricane Sandy.
We have been acting as volunteers assisting New Yorkers in devastated areas by helping them clean out their homes, and begin the rebuilding process.
As our volunteer work continued week after week, we began to take stock of the depths of destruction our new friends were facing and how we can continue to help.
Our neighbors were struggling for normalcy in their day-to-day routines, their lives torn apart by the simplest things, like lack of access to showers, clean clothing, and heat.
Some died in the brutality of the aftermath of the storm, forgotten by big agencies like the Red Cross, and even the city.
We also witnessed the severe beating given to the beautiful places where we ride, surf, and skate; the roads, the trails, the waves, the parks, and many, many other areas that had been hit hard.
We discussed how we can help in areas truly devastated by these events and this sparked Ride4NY’s mission:
The idea is evolving quickly as our group takes stock of the lives forever changed.
Many have been left without homes or with homes in desperate need of repair. Entire families, the elderly, and children have been displaced and traumatically impacted.
We know you want to help too.
This year Ride4NY will help raise awareness and funding for those in dire need following Hurricane Sandy.
In the future, we will spread this message of caring and positive impact across the state to raise awareness and provide funding for many causes.

- To engage the New York community of athletes, sports enthusiasts, family, friends and concerned citizens to get active through our state-wide events.
We will raise the awareness of, lend assistance to, and bring ongoing financial and emotional relief to those who lose the most during environmental and natural disasters
